Christmas time is here...

And we've been working on snowflakes! I'm trying to upload pics, but have some technical difficulties, so I'll have to come back to this.

It's November 23, have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? I haven't. Haven't even started. I am sans-vehicle for much of the day today, so I am hitching a ride with my mother to do Thanksgiving/little bit of Christmas shopping today.

I finally bought clear resin a few weeks ago. A week after pouring the stuff, I am STILL waiting for it to dry. That can't possibly be normal.

Cafe Cookies

Today I whipped up a batch of what I am now referring to as Cafe Cookies, as they taste much like something purchased for way more than the cost of the ingredients themselves. I found the recipe in the Wednesday, November 8 edition of the Providence Journal (have to make sure I'm citing my info!):

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup brown sugar (I always recommend dark brown)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
3/4 T vanilla
4 cups all puprose flour
3/4 T baking soda
3/4 T baking powder

Mix wet ingredients, adding eggs one at a time. (Or, all at once, as is my M.O)
Sift dry ingredients (Or throw it all in at once.)
Stir in flour mixture one cup at a time (this does help)
Stir in 2 1/2 cups Chocolate chips
Bake in 375 degree for about 12 minutes (adjust time according to preference.)

Of course, this is a very paraphrased rendition of the recipe. I'd love to try making these cookies with a shot or two of espresso, and maybe a few walnuts. I may just go crazy and add a whole cup of nuts!

I personally prefer these cookies slightly cooled. And with a hot cup of coffee. Everything goes well with coffee...

In My Craft-Supply Cabinet

Hello to all! I've decided to kick-start this blog with my list of craft "necessities." In my cabinet I have:

Markers
Colored Pencils
Crayons
Acrylic paint (adult supervision is VERY HIGHLY recommended!)
Fingerpaints
Paintbrushes
Watercolor paper
Construction paper
Destruction paper (newsprint, to protect the table, floors, walls, you name it. Trust me, I have cleaned fingerpaints off the ceiling.)
Scotch tape
Double sided tape
Glue
"Jewels" (Awesome little plastic rhinestones!)
Google Eyes
PomPoms
Glitter
Yarn
Ribbon
Seasonal Wooden Cut-Outs (I go to AC Moore for these!)
Small Terra Cotta pots
Jingle Bells
Various bottle/carton caps (Milk, juice, sodas, ect.)

And kept high, out of reach of small fingers:

Spray paint,
Spray Glitter,
Spray finish
Hot Glue gun
Scissors
Beads
Small Magnets

I admit it: this is probably rather excessive. However, it is nice to just go to the cabinet and have everything I need for crafts. If you all will excuse me, I think I need to add a few things to my shopping list.
